I specialise in debt recovery, insolvency (personal including recall, liquidation, administration), company restoration, director disqualification and misfeasance claims, personal guarantees and indemnities, business, partnership and corporate disputes, trading standards, consumer rights and sale of goods and property disputes, commercial and other contractual (including terms and conditions) disputes, restrictive covenants, banking, finance, lending, borrowing and investment disputes, professional negligence claims involving  solicitors, accountants, financial advisers and surveyors, tax appeals and disputes and other related matters involving HMRC, property repossession, real estate, disputes within the construction industry including those involving main contractors, sub-contractors, trades, builders merchants.

 

I have years of experience handling commercial and residential lease disputes, including those involving HMOs. I have also acted in a number of investigatory matters involving regulators such as ICAS and the FCA.I provide straightforward, no-nonsense, practical, tailored, cost effective legal and business advice.

I help construction professionals and contractors get paid. In the field of construction-related disputes I have acted for private sector employers, contractors, subcontractors and consultants in litigation, arbitration and adjudication.

 

I am regularly called on to advise clients in this sector on breach of contract, sale of goods, retention of title and insolvency.I also have experience acting for a number of management and letting agents in commercial and residential leasing matters, advising on the removal of tenants and unlawful occupiers, debt recovery and various related matters including licensing advice and representation. I have acted for owners, landlords, tenants and other occupiers in such matters.

 

I have experience of advising and litigating disputes in the fields of banking, investment, debt factoring/invoice finance and commercial hire agreements.I also have a growing practice being instructed in areas of personal and corporate insolvency and in respect of property repossession.I have a keen interest in education and in helping my clients to get their heads around and find solutions to the daily challenges they face.

 

I have previously tutored at University of Strathclyde and University of West Scotland.I regularly deliver external presentations, for example, to insurers, to trade or construction and engineering forums and to commercial management agents, landlords, accountants and financial advisors.
