Legal Disputes and Debt Recovery

Whyte Fraser & Co Solicitors are a niche firm of commercial, civil and personal dispute resolution, debt recovery and insolvency solicitors covering the whole of Scotland acting for and pursuing parties not just in Scotland but outwith that jurisdiction.

We take pride in the work we do representing our clients’ personal and business needs. We act for individuals and smaller businesses. We also act for a number of well-known medium to large organisations, as well as legal, financial and accountancy practices throughout Scotland and the UK. 

Due to further expansion, we are looking for another solicitor to join our team. This position would suit someone who is post qualified (ideally more than 18 months). We would also like to hear from those returning from a career break and those wishing to move into this area of litigation from other areas of dispute resolution. Experience in contract/property disputes or debt recovery or insolvency or commercial litigation is desirable but not a necessity.

You will undertake good quality and varied work. You will be expected to draft most of your own work and, as such, technological proficiency and working knowledge of a case management system are desirable. That said, you will be offered training as required to bring you up to speed.

We are looking for a candidate who: enjoys the responsibility of working autonomously, has a passion for supporting and building close connections with clients, helping others and building satisfying working relationships with colleagues and collaborators and is keen to contribute ideas to improve their working environment and that of their colleagues.

The working environment Whyte Fraser & Co Solicitors  is family friendly and is heavily supportive of mental well-being.

Our focus is on providing you with a high degree of flexibility in your working environment. Our staff work on days to suit them anytime during the day (within reason) between Monday and Sunday. The role can be carried out on a full or part time basis.   We would prefer a minimum commitment of 2.5 days a week (or equivalent) but we are open to discussing your availability and we encourage our colleagues to work flexibly at a time that suits them. Getting the right person is our priority. We are here to work around you rather than the other way around.   

Whyte Fraser & Co offer a remuneration package that is competitive with larger law firms, albeit commensurate with experience. In addition to that basic salary there are the usual pension entitlements and (following a successful period of probation): a generous bonus scheme, holiday entitlement, your option to work from home on a regular if not permanent basis (depending on level of experience and need for supervision) plus other financial and non-financial benefits.

You will be given the opportunity to develop as a solicitor and contribute to the firm at whichever rate and in whichever way suits both you and the firm.
